Evening Events (TBC in light of covid)
Thursday: Drinks Reception
There will be a drinks reception on the evening of Thursday 2 September, included in both the day and the full registration fee. This will be a civic reception, with Dundee’s Lord Provost (TBC) welcoming delegates to the conference.
The reception is being hosted at the Verdant Works, a museum that tells the story of Dundee’s industrial textile heritage in the atmospheric setting of a beautifully refurbished Mill building. Verdant Works is an award-winning working jute museum that captures the spirit of the industrial age, a stunning example of Victorian mill architecture.
The Verdant Works is a 5 minute walk from the Dalhousie Building. See these directions on Google Maps.
Friday: Conference Dinner
The conference dinner is on the evening of Friday 3 September, and will be hosted at the V&A Dundee in their Tatha Bar and Kitchen. The dinner is not included in the conference fee; there will be an extra charge per head, and spaces are limited.
The V&A Dundee is a design museum which opened on 15 September 2018. The V&A Dundee is the first design museum in Scotland and the first Victoria and Albert museum outside London. It is also the first building in the United Kingdom that has been designed by Kengo Kuma. Read more about the building here.
The V&A Dundee is a 12 minute walk from the Dalhousie Building. See these directions on Google Maps.
